Allow me to introduce

Just a few things that make my world go round:

My boy! He got excited for me when I saw Marvin from JLS because he knows how much it meant to me, wrote me a love letter from Prague and made me a Husky dog wearing a Liverpool shirt from the Build a Bear shop because Huskies are my favourite and Liverpools my team. Needless to say the bear is called Fernando. Lovelovelove.

My woofs

My furry partner in crime Mollycat

Cant live with them, cant live without them <3

Happy Sunday

Nothing like a session of Googling the men who have made me swoon in 2010. I give you my 2010 Celebrity Hot List:

Fernando goes without saying

Enrique..amazing. I'm seeing a pattern emerging of love for Spanish men..

Always amazes me that Charles Bartholomew aka Chuck Bass is from my neck of the woods. He should have stayed here, and possibly married me.

Hot voice. Hot face. Hot body. Marvin from JLS is just ridiculously hot.

If I had a pound for everytime I say 'I bloody love Dermot' during an episode of x factor id be a millionaire, easily. I bloody love Dermot.

They are about 6 years too young but oh so handsome! Good old One Direction.

Which celebrity men are gracing your 2010 Hot List?

Santa baby, hurry down the chimney tonight

Last night I went to the boyfriends work Christmas party. It was festive fancy dress, so I decided to be incredibly original and go as...santa.
I wore:

To be honest I completely ripped off my Halloween devil costume, and added black M&S tights, my Miss Selfridge high heeled boots, and a furry santa hat, accessorised with some tinsel. Ho ho ho.

Many a malibu and orange was consumed so needless to say I am feeling a little worse for wear today!

Invitations went out yesterday for my works Christmas do, and I got the inevitable email - 'what are you going to wear?' which sent me in to a massive panic because I've only been to after-work drinks with my collegues where I just wore what id worn to the office...No idea what to wear to the Christmas party! Does anyone have their festive outfits planned yet?

You only live once...

I want to look back on my life and be happy in the knowledge that I did everything that I wanted to do, and lived life to the full. Very often I don't live life to the full for whatever reason..but then I think about my two favourite sayings.
You only live once
&
Life's too short.

Both so true. At the end of the day your life is yours, and you shouldnt let anybody else dictate how you live it. Reach for the stars, achieve everything you want to achieve, see everything you want to see and do everything you want to do.

I lost a uni friend of mine recently to a car accident in Thailand. He used to throw stones at my window until he'd convince me to come out and chill out on the field in the sun with him. He was never without a smile on his face, always happy, always making other people happy. He was 23 and far too young to have his life taken away from him. He was a classic example of someone who lived their life to the full.
RIP Mike - you're an inspiration :)

Yesterday was a proud day.
My friend Alan graduated from the RAF (with an award for outstanding perfomance, no less!)

We braved the sub-zero temperatures and watched him and his Flight march in a Passing Out parade along to the sounds of a marching band. Such a fun and proud day. Congrats Alan!

Coat - Jane Norman
Red dress (which you cant see) - Dorothy Perkins
Studded leggings - New Look
Boots - Miss Selfridge
Scarf - Tesco
Hat - Stolen from my mum, SO warm!

Love Sundays...

Nil makeup. Messy hair. Warm knitwear = perfectly acceptable for a Sunday evening.

Had to go to work today - we were on air ludicrously early so I dragged myself out from under my toasty duvet and caught the first train in to work. Met a regular London commuter on the platform - always nice to have random encounters with new people!

Took a trip to Vendome in Mayfair, London with my cousin on Friday (avoid avoid avoid if you don't wish to pay £10+ for a single spirit & mixer..absolute daylight robbery - lush club though)
I wore:

£40 (i think) from Jane Norman
Reminds me of a powerpuff girl, but I kinda like it.

PS: LOOK WHO I SPIED AT WORK!!

Complete fail attempt at subtley snapping these hotties on my iphone without them clocking my stalker behaviour..but you can just about make out the gorgeous Marvin from JLS in the stripes, and Aston sitting next to him! Can't believe they were sat in my canteen!! :O

Hope you're all having a fab weekend x

Today I had a day off as I worked the weekend.
I went to the dentist, did a spot of shopping with Madre, and then channelled my inner 'The Only Way is Essex' and got myself a spray tan (which hasn't made me orange, so I am thrilled)
Came home & chilled in the comfiest/warmest PJs known to man (New Look - £12 in the sale);

Nil makeup today, with the exception of a slick of mascara, as you have to be makeup free for the spray tan. Wanted to give my skin a break from makeup as its been ever so oily as of late, very out of character for my normally dry skin. Now i've gone and clogged my pores with tanning product..ho hum.

In other slightly more exciting news, I was wandering out of work on my lunch break yesterday and saw a mass of excited girls crowded round a blacked out car. This is nothing out of the ordinary outside my office but as always I was curious to see what celeb it was...and to my absolute delight it was Dougie from Mcfly! Sadly by the time I'd squealed like an excited child and raced over (to the amusement of my colleagues) he was just slipping back into the car. So we carried on our lunch trip to Fratellis, when my friend Sam said "There's the rest of them" and lo and behold, Danny, Tom and Harry were wandering past the window. Far too much excitement before lunch I feel!

Hope you are all having a fab week so far.

General Ramble/Train Ramble

Hola lovlies.

It is coming to the end of a much needed lovely relaxing weekend. I have just consumed an epic roast dinner (gracias, Mummy), endulged in some quality 'me' time (consisting of eyebrow plucking, toe-nail painting, and chapter one of 'Last Night at Chateau Marmont' by Lauren Weisberger). Yesterday was spent avec le boyfriend, his best friend Alan who had his first weekend off since joining the RAF almost a month ago, and Alan's girlfriend/one of my best friends Laura. We went to lunch at a restaurant called Bistro & played multiplayer Mario on the Nintendo Wii. Nothing like a bit of downtime with friends :)

All in all much needed after a hectic week of work, not to mention an ordeal on the old London Underground. I don't know if anyone read about it in the papers/heard it on the News, but the train I was on gave up on life in the underground and after many an hour being trapped underground we were finally rescued by a multitude of paramedics and underground staff. They shut the whole line, turned off the power, rescued the pregnant ladies/old folk/unwell people first, then carriage by carriage we were evacuated from our broken tube train and made to walk in darkness down the underground track. I was so frightened! Not something you expect to happen midweek on your way to work.

I have come to realise how this hectic lifestyle of long days/little rest, as much as I love my job, have taken their toll on me. I look and feel run down...can anyone recommend any solutions to lift me from this (for want of a better word) 'Meh' phase?!

Epic Post..making up for lost time!

I've learnt my lesson: No more promises to do blogposts if I can't keep them.

Managed to scrounge another weekend off work, and hit the shops in beautiful Cambridge with the boyf for a spot of retail therapy. The city had a lovely chill in the air and already it has started to feel like Christmas.

Spotted these beauties in Miss Selfridges & fell in love...

They are gorgeous suedey lace up high heeled boots that are surprisingly comfortable to walk in - an absolute must for when I attempt to wear them to a 12 hour day at the office!

Also purchased a pair of dark blue denim skinny jeans from New Look, which are so comfortable. New Look make jeans shopping so easy I feel.

Repurchased Rimmel Hide the Blemish concealer in Sand, as well as a Miss Sporty mascara - cheap and cheerful at 2.99 and makes my lashes look super thick and dark.

Another purchase I've made this month was one I've been working myself up to for a very long time now; sew in hair extensions. I've used clip ins for years, and recently found the routine of clipping them in to be tiresome and time consuming, so I decided that I would have extensions sewn in:) The process itself is fascinating to watch; they sew tiny braids flat to your scalp under your hair, and then sew the hair extension wefts into the braid. Never have I witnessed such speedy braiding in my entire life, however my stylist had had 9 years of practise!

Above is the back. Below is a snap of my hair from the front:

I think the colour match is really good - nobody seems to be able to tell that they are extensions which is a good sign!
The downsides to these, I would say, is that washing your hair suddenly becomes a lot more tedious. You are only supposed to wash the extensions once a week so you have to clip back sections and wash your own hair seperately = effort!
With a moisturising shampoo and conditioner I see no harm in washing the extensions more regularly.

This brings me on to my next point..a long overdue review of some hair care products I purchased a while back from The Body Shop. This is the shampoo and hair butter from their new Rainforest Moisture range:

I'll start with the hair butter. I had a sample of this free in a magazine, tried it, and loved it. I then recieved a second sample free with another magazine so I tried it again, loved it, and decided to purchase a pot for my very own. It was about £8, which for the amount you get and the length of time it lasts, is very reasonable in my opinion. I was expecting to pay a heck of a lot more. You only need to use a little bit of this product, massage it in to your hair and leave it for about five minutes. I found that even after the first time using this product, my extremely dry hair (bleached and straightened to within an inch of its life) immediately felt more nourished and soft. I now use this religiously a few times a week. I also use this on my hair extensions to keep them soft.

Whilst browsing the range, I also spotted the shampoo, which I purchased in an attempt to mend my massively damaged hair. This shampoo has a very thick consistency (it contains honey, and the consistency reminds me of honey also) and as lovely as it is (and as lovely as it smells!) I can't use it too often, particularly on my crown, as it makes my hair a bit TOO moisturised and thus appears greasy. I have however taken to using it on my hair extensions and it works perfectly for keeping them in a good, healthy condition. I'm intrigued to explore more of this range. Have you had any experience with any of these products?

Hello strangers...

Oh how I miss blogging!
Literally I have never been so busy in my life. I do not recommend working 12+ hour days as well as trying to write and hand in a dissertation!

I have however managed to find the odd five minutes to purchase a few little bits and pieces so I will share these with you on Friday when I have a rare day off.

Despite the business, Ive had such an exciting week at work. Yesterday I conversed with the lovely Gary Lineker for an entire journey in the lift, just the two of us. I work with his son George so it was mainly a convo about him, but a conversation with the Walkers crisp legend nonetheless! In the evening I also got to sneak up into the rafters where they rig the lighting in one of the studios and witnessed a live TV performance of the wonderful Ne-yo...he is A-mazing, did anyone manage to see this on TV? I really want to watch the whole thing!!

It was also my 23rd birthday this weekend, had a wonderful night out with some amazing friends. It was a military pub war (pub golf with a military twist!) in honour of my friend Alan who is off to join the RAF. Here's a quick snap of my Outfit of the Night, along with my gorgeous sailor friend Laura:

Hope you are all well and havnt been washed away by the miserable British weather!

Slacker!

I am working all day everyday at the moment, busy busy times!
The blog has not been forgotten, and blogging will resume as normal after this busy period.

On an unrelated note..I ran into Vernon Kay at work today..swoon! *_*

Masquerade Ball part Deux

Just thought I'd share some more snaps from the masquerade ball I mentioned a couple of posts back:)

Also, I cannot stop listening to THIS song!

Monday 6 September 2010

Au Revoir GMTV..Bonjour Daybreak

Did anyone watch the pilot show of Daybreak this morning?
Can't say I ever watched GMTV...but I had a sneak peak at the set of Daybreak this afternoon at work and it's lovely! Very pink and purple. Im going to try and snap a sneaky picture tomorrow.

Cristine Bleakley, Adrian Chiles & Frank Lampard have been wandering around the building lately..along with Jedward, Mcfly (I JUST missed seeing them...devastating!) but most exciting of all....I'll be working with the face of Walkers Crisps in under two weeks time...Mr Gary Lineker. EXCITED.
Must.refrain.from.crisp.jokes!

Hope you are having a good start to the week. Don't forget the tube strikes tomorrow...how inconvenient.

The boyfriend picked out my mask, he did a good job, it's beautiful!
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend:)

Hair talk & Haul

Today I took a trip to a town about half an hour away from where I live, with the sole intention of looking into having weft hair extensions. I've been wearing clip ins for a couple of years now, but they are so time consuming that I just can't be doing with them anymore!
The salon where I normally get my extensions from is amazing, and the staff are so informative. Iv booked an appointment for October 2nd (a whole month away..sad face) but this is something to look forward to :)

I took the opportunity to browse the shops and pick up a few bits and pieces.

Palmolive Soft & Gentle deodorant
No.7 Tinted Moisturiser (having just looked at the tube I've realised I picked it up in Medium and not light..foolish girl!)
Blonde hair grips from Superdrug
Barry M Nail Paint 308 Berry
Nivea Lipbalm
Revlon Photoready Foundation 003 Shell
Shoes - Primark (£6) I had a pair of these before, slightly different design at the front from last year but all in all essentially the same shoe, and all I can say is that they are the comfiest pumps I own. They dont give me blisters like my pumps from New Look do, and they last ages.

All in all, I spent far too much money.
This cheered me up though:

I blogged briefly about going to see Tiesto at Victoria Park in London this summer.
My friend is his tour manager and managed to get this little badboy signed for me, ee!

Hope you all have a wonderful bank holiday weekend!

Outfit of the Night: Kanaloa

Last night I ventured to Girls Alouds Sarah Harding's club in London, Kanaloa.
This bar operates on the same kind of shallow policy of most of London's 'celebrity' clubs; girls go complimentary, guys pay to get in, guestlists and tables, vodka served with sparklers....but with a Hawaiin theme! Think tiki bars, girls in hula flowers, bamboo and tiki statues, not to mention cocktails served in pineapples!

For this joyous occasion I ventured out in a dress I mentioned in a previous post that I hadn't worn. I figured the corally colour and the shoulder frill was the closest I had to a hawaiin outfit;

Dress: New Look, current stock, around the £20 mark

Eyes:
Sleek eyeshadow palette (Storm), using the top and bottom colours on the far left of the palette.
Sleek Kajal eyeliner
Miss Sporty mascara (cheap and cheerful and achieves the same effect as some of the high end mascaras I have tried!)

Face:
No 7 Tinted Moisturiser
Rimmel Hide the Blemish concealer in Sand
Revlon Photo Ready Foundation
MAC Style blush
MAC Bronzer
MAC Finishing Powder

Lips:
Bare in this photo...don't tend to wear lippy due to my dry lip issue I mentioned in a previous post, so I just applied Nivea Lip Balm and off out to play I went :)

Hope you all had a fun weekend!

Celebwatch #2

So I was at work, getting dinner in the Studio Cafe as we had an evening show. Me and my friend Rich were at the counter...when a lady walks passed accompanied by two people either side. Immediately I recognise her, and Rich turns to me and says:
"Was that...?"
"Yeh I'm sure it was..."
"Whoopee Goldberg?!"
None other than Sister Acts' own Whoopeee Goldberg walks past!
We then sat outside (a glass window separates the inside cafe seating to the outside) and Rich points out 'there's Alan Carr' so I look in through the window, midway through eating jelly, spoon to mouth, and my jaw drops. Then even more embarassingly, Alan Carr LAUGHS at me being gobsmacked by him. What a day!

Work drinks to follow...so I am relatively tipsy right now.
Have a fun weekend!

Office OOTD #2

Top: ASOS
Trousers: New Look

Went into work this morning and Diversity were just chilling in reception, as y'do.
Also got photographed by a crazy papperazzi man outside while I was minding my own business waiting to meet a friend. Not best pleased!!

Train Ramble #2

Tonight I sat in a tunnel for fifteen minutes..in the dark, next to the cheesiest most gag-enducing loved up couple. Damn signal failure hold-ups!
When the train eventually got going, I hopped on the trusty Victoria line and a woman got on..accompanied by the cutest boggly eyed dog. I think it must have been some kind of pug, but it was SO adorable. Most people get gah-gah over babies, but I am a sucker for animals. I didn't even know dogs were allowed on the train so I was chuffed when this happy pooch sat down next to me, wagging its stumpy little tail.
No sign of Train Hunk, sadly.

More Office OOTDs coming your way shortly :)

Office OOTD #1

I'm quite lucky in terms of my office dresscode; smart-casual.
Most of the men come in wearing jeans and shirts, and the women wear jeans and tops, but I like to try and dress it up a little bit and make a good impression as I am still the 'newbie'!

This is what I wore today (apologies for bad quality photo/messy background...need to get the hang of this self photography lark!)

The entire outfit is basically from New Look lol.
Red ribbed vest top
Black drop pocket cardigan
Short black high waisted skirt with gold buttons
Black tights
and I wore it all with black pumps and gold accessories.

Nothing too exciting today but come payday I will be expanding the officewear element of my wardrobe..hauls to come!

Dissertation Help

This may be a little bit of a longshot, but one that would be much appreciated.

Basically I'm doing my MA Marketing dissertation..15,000 glorious words infact, on what most influences young men and women to purchase cosmetic products.

I'm just going to put this out there to the blogosphere in the hope that anyone who wants to aid me in my comparitive study can do so...by clicking HERE.

Also if anyone knows anyone who might be interested in participating in some beauty-marketing related questions, do feel free to pass on the link:)

I'd be so grateful to anyone who takes the time to fill it out!

6. What did you have for breakfast? Victoria Sponge cake that my mum made..nice and healthy haha.
7. What is your favorite cuisine? Italian, nom!

This was from New Look fairly recently, havn't worn it out yet but I plan on wearing it to my boyfriends work Masquerade Ball

This one is also fairly recent from ASOS.com...I'd advise that whatever size you normally are, purchase this in a size up! It is super tight.

CelebWatch #1

Like many people, and unlike many others, I am very much into the whole celebrity culture that the UK has become obsessed with. There are even academic journals focussed on 'the cult of the celebrity'! The celebrity lifestyle is just so glamourous to us onlookers that we can't help but be interested. Don't get me wrong, I don't go as far as purchasing OK! magazine to get the details of the latest celebrity wedding (nothing wrong with that though!) but I do love a good celebrity spot!

Luckily for me, the last two jobs I've had have involved a level of interaction with past-it celebrities, not so past-it celebrities, and downright current celebrities.

Take Tuesday last week, for example. I was wandering down to the work cafe to purchase a sandwich, minding my own business, when who do i spy sitting at a table right in front of me? Frankie and Mollie from The Saturdays! Only to be joined shortly after by the rest of the gang. They were taking a quick lunchbreak from the studios where they were filming some kind of fly-on-wall type of thing (according to my boyfriend, who is evidently more clued up than I am!) I'd met the Saturdays at my old job in promotions, and sadly hadn't recieved the best impression of them (bar Frankie, she was a sweetheart and kindly posed for a picture with my friend who loves her more than life itself)

I am still amazed at how teeny tiny they all are in person!

Then yesterday, kids TV presenters Dick & Dom (lovely chaps who i also happened to meet in my old job...need some new celebs for CelebWatch please!) were randomly lurking outside my office, as ydo.

'Citing stuff.

I am crossing my fingers and toes for the day that Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Enrique, or John James from Big Brother 2010 happen to poke their head round my office door. Wishful thinking, perhaps?!

Who would be your ideal celebrity sighting?
